With Bobby and Shaney Aalbers
Make & Mary was introduced to Bobby Aalbers by his daughter Shaney (she teaches a lot of our yoga classes). One day, Shaney brought in some his leather work, it was all so good! Bobby creates everything from moccasins to motorcycle bags all crafted with detail. He doesn’t do it to sell, just to ease his maker soul. Somehow Shaney convinced him to teach a class at Make & Mary, and he agreed!
The story goes even deeper. You see, Bobby is cancer survivor. He was confronted with a prostate cancer and diagnosis in the summer of 2013. He was told to entertain the allopathic course or else the cancer would metastasize to his bones. Instead, he took his healing into his own hands and started growing cannabis to create his own RSO oil— a true medicine man.
But he is also so much more… Once a professional bull rider and rough stock cowboy, a timber faller and logger, a carpenter, a fitness center owner/operator and forever a motorcycle enthusiast.
It was great to have the father and daughter duo in The Station. Shaney lead the class with a mindful journey of intention and grounding mediation. Everyone created their own medicine bag from amulets, beads, fresh herbs and hand crafted antler buttons (made by Bobby of course).
To complement the lesson and keep us on a high frequency, Electric Lettuce was in house with special gifts for everyone.
So much love <3
