Trying to channel the spirit of the strong and creative Chignona, Frida Kahlo. My shop doors have been closed all month…I think I see the light at the end of the tunnel✨ I’m gonna keep flowing〰️

I am so proud of my heritage and to walk in the foot steps of the medicine women of my lineage. This month and into next is National Hispanic Heritage Month, but every month we celebrate our Mexican heritage with rituals.

And with that I am about to open another door, this time with a new shop in the Alberta Arts District. Our new place will be called Make & Mary- Casa de Ritual. It will be a gathering space to experience ritual practices, community events, art shows and of course workshops, soundbaths and more.

The buildout is a little slower than I anticipated. But building good things take time and this has been a practice in patience for me. However I could use your support. And what better time than Hispanic Heritage a month 🤎

If you love our products consider buying online, we ship quick. But you can also make an appointment to pick up in the new shop, just don’t mind the boxes!

Thank you for being here! I can’t wait to be up and running again and to start making, and sharing this path with you✨

shinrin-yoku: The eco therapy practice of forest b shinrin-yoku:
The eco therapy practice of forest bathing” or “taking in the forest atmosphere. It is a combination of sensory stimuli that can help return the mind and body to a more calm, natural state.

It’s easy to do. Enter a natural area with lots of trees. Use all of your senses to take in the experience. Look at the landscape, take slow, deep breaths, touch the leaves and soil (but keep an eye out for plants like poison ivy and others that shouldn’t be handled).
When you walk, go slow and stop often. Engage your senses and observe the nature around you. Take a meditative approach and be present with each step you take. Cultivate stillness. Seek out moments of awe and wonder.

Make an offering to the land while you are there. Gather natural materials for an altar or art making to leave at the trunk of a tree. Bring bird seed, nuts and berries for the winged kin, sing out to the tree tops or dance underneath their canopy’s.

Remembering my visited to this beautiful tree on the coast of British Columbia just a few weeks ago. With the move it seams like so long! I can’t wait to open the doors again. I have some beautiful new offerings for you. One inspired by the forest!

Have you sat amongst the trees lately? Where is your favorite place to go?
