Pisces season stretches from February 20th to March 20th, it’s a perfect time to say goodbye to winter and begin welcoming Spring.
A dreamy and creative sign, Pisces is ruled by Neptune God of the Sea. Think watery, shimmer and sparkle, opalescent like scales of a fish, the symbol of Pisces. Other Pisces themes include imagination, mysticism, empathy, dreaming, clairvoyance, idealism, intuition, otherworldly transcendence, and adaptability.
Dreaming in the Deep
In Tarot, Pisces is associated with The Moon, The Cups Suit, as well as the 9 of Cups. 9 of Cups is the card of wishes and wishful thinking. This card is an invitation to use our imagination, to dream up the most ideal future for ourselves--you know the one that makes our hearts dance and soar? Those types of fantasies and dreams we wish for our future selves that are so big they may seem impossible or scary.
The Moon represents reflection and tuning more deeply into our inner world. The Cups represent looking inward, moving with our intuition, connecting with our subconscious, leading with heart, and being moved by our creativity.
Piscean Self Care Themes
Pisces rules the feet and toes, our lymphatic and respiratory systems, the ability of tissues and body systems to relax, and the pineal gland--also known as the third eye. Potent self care practices for Pisces Season could be reflexology, a foot massage, pedicure, lymphatic drainage massage, or just a massage in general. A bath, soak, swim, or nap also channel the dreamy, fluid nature of the season. It’s the perfect time to get creative. Self care can look like anything. What truly matters is how it makes you feel.
Ritual Inspiration
Dream rituals, past life exploration, blessing of water tools such as cups, cauldrons, and bowls, bathing rituals, anything associated with water, and marking the ending/beginning of a cycle especially now as we are entering the transition from Winter to Spring. This is also an auspicious time to work on our psychic development, training our imagination like a muscle. Imagination runs psychic information through our auras creating the wonderful experience of connecting to our inner child and the magical innocence of living in a world of dreams and fantasies.
Herbs Associated with Pisces
Elder (Sambucus nigra), Milky Oat (Avena sativa), Nettles (Urtica dioica), Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum), Ginger (Zingiber officinalis), Maca (Lepidium meyenii), Pine (Pinus spp.), Chicory (Chicorium intybus), Sage (Salvia officinalis), Mullein (Thapsus verbascum), Lavender (Lavandula officinalis), Myrrh (Commiphora myrrha), Witch Hazel (Hamamelis virginiana), and Dandelion (Taraxacum officinalis).
Calming Dream Satchel
The practice of placing herbs or intentioned items under your pillow dates back centuries and is used to protect against evil, bring good dreams, calm bad dreams, and foresee the future. For this ritual we will be creating an herbal satchel to promote peaceful sleep, encourage dreaming and remind us of their importance. A lot of these herbs can be found in your garden, at a local co-op, farmers market or herb shop, and even in tea bags. Keep the size of you satchel in mind while acquiring your herbs.
What You'll Need
- Your choice of herbs (gather inspiration from the Piscean Herbs or even use our Empress Hemp Tea!)
- Muslin bag or something similar
- Mixing bowl and spoon
- Essential Oils (optional)
- Journal and something to write with
Let’s Get Started
As you call in your guides and clear and cleanse your space, start to think about your goals and intentions you’d like to set. We are going to channel the 9 of Cups and visualize what our most grandiose goals, dreams, and desires will look and really feel like in our bodies.
Grab your notebook or journal and start to write out your intentions, dreams, and goals, the most amazing ideas of what you would like your future to look like and how exactly that makes you feel. Don’t hold back or let the little voice in your head tell you any wish is “too much” or impossible. DREAM BIG!
Now it’s time to create your herbal mixture. How much or little you use of the herbs depends solely on your intuition and the size of the bag you’ve chosen. Unleash that Piscean creative freedom!
- Combine your herbs in a bowl.
- If you choose to use essential oils, go slow, add a few drops at a time and mix well to ensure you have the perfect amount of scent.
- Scoop your herbal blend into the muslin bag, close tightly and you are all set!
Before bed place the satchel upon your third eye as a blessing with the intentions you have set, perhaps rereading what you wrote in your journal. Now place the satchel underneath, inside, or beside your pillow before bedtime and enjoy the wonderful scent you have created, using it as tether to your dreams and wishes.
